Beautifully furnished apartment in Calle de la Merced near to the Cathedral of La Merced - Barcelona's patron Saint - and right in the heart of 'Old Barcelona'. Beautifully renovated flat in an historic building with every comfort and decorated to the highest standards. Located just off the seafront, half way between the Ramblas and Born, surrounded by myriad restaurants and tapas bars. Medieval sights abound mixed in with shops of every description and sidewalk café life. A short stoll takes you to the Port Vell - Barcelona's old port, lined with restaurants and museums. Take the cable car to Montjuic for amazing views of Barcelona and the port. Walk the other way and you are in front of Barcelona's medieval cathedral and near to Plaza Catalunya. The Picasso museum is a 10 minute walk, in the heart of the Born. Wander along to the Ramblas and soak up the colors, sights and sounds of the famous La Boquería market. A few minutes further on brings you to the MACBA – Barcelona’s museum of Contemporary Art. The apartment is a genuine home from home with 4m ceilings and balcony. Large and comfortable living/dining room with original works of art, satellite TV, and music centre; fully equipped kitchen, air conditioning throughout, central heating, 2 bathrooms, washer and dryer. Easy access to the airport, train stations and minutes from the metro: direct train link from airport to Sants train station which is a 10 min taxi ride from the apartment. 20 minute taxi journey from Barcelona airport (approx cost 25 euros). 5 minute taxi journey from cruise terminal. If you are driving to Barcelona we can supply approach maps with detailed instructions for reaching the apartment. There is a secure public car park nearby. There are 2 metro lines (green and yellow) approx 5 min walk in different directions. Buses are very frequent and everywhere. Pricing policy: Prices are for the property per night in euros. Minimum rental 3 nights. Discounts are normally available for stays of 7 nights or more. Certain peak dates carry special prices and conditions: Minimum 4 nights over the Barcelona Grand Prix. Minimum 7 nights over New Year + 20% increase in price. Minimum 7 nights over the GSM conference + 50% increase in price during the dates 8 - 17 Feb 2008. Prices for 2008 will start at 210€ per night for 4 people with a minimum of 3 nights, 240€ for 5 people and 270€ for 6. There will be a few booking restrictions during special dates such as New Year and certain conferences, please check with us 25% non-refundable deposit to confirm booking. Remainder due 30 days prior to arrival together with final cleaning fee of €75. Security deposit €250, refunded on check-out. (This can either be paid with the remaining balance or in cash on arrival.) If you cancel after paying the balance and we are able to rebook the apartment, we will refund 75% of the rental price. We strongly recommend you take out cancellation insurance.
